Exitos en Video

Customer Review: Sound engeneer where are you?
The sound quality is horrendous, Mana make a lot of money off there fans I could not believe my ears. I end up play the cd and the videos Simultaneously to be happy. A live concert DVD is needed MANA.
Customer Review: Great Mexican rock band, great songs but...
When they made the DVD, there are some things they should have changed on it. If you're a Mana fan, you'll know all the songs. One live track, a cover of "El Rey" filmed in Montreux Switerland shows of Alex Gonzalez's drumming, something that doesn't come through on their studio tracks. As far as the videos themselves go, you see it going from something that is borderline public access video, to some embarrassing videos that are kind of humorous, to a more polished look towards the "Suenos Liquidos" videos, where it ends. Nothing from "Revolucion de Amor" or their song with Carlos Santana "Corazon Espinado" (which is on Carlos' "Supernatural" DVD) is included. Here's the complaints that I found more annoying than anything: the cover of Led Zeppelin's "Fool in the Rain", straight off of the "Econium" tribute video is them in the studio talking about recording the song. It either should be the full song or in the "extras". It's something that you wind up forwarding and gets annoying real fast. "Clavado En Un Bar" has 5 minutes of the "making of", yet you can't skip the making of, you have to forward it. Another one that belongs in the "extras". It's something that we should be able to enjoy with the TV on or off. The "in betweens" can get a little noisy at times but isn't a big deal. It's not in Surround Sound, but you can hear it playing in all the speakers. I'd like to see them revamp this one a little bit to make it more "DVD-friendly" and put out a live DVD which shows off how great they are in concert. Even if you don't understand Spanish, the music alone is good enough to enjoy...

The Belfast Festival started out in the 1960s as a small campus event held at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was organized by a young student named Michael Emerson. From then on, it continued to earn acclaim that after ten years it started to attract eminent personalities such as Jimi Hendrix, Dizzy Gillespie, Laurence Olivier and Ravi Shankar.

Amid the political upheaval of the 1970s the Belfast Festival helped bring about progressive change in the cultural renaissance of the city, revitalizing its cultural and arts scene. In the 1980s, Michael Barnes assumed directorship of the festival and it was during this time that the festival was expanded into a two-week long celebration. Celebrities like Billy Connolly, Rowan Atkinson and Michael Palin took part in the festivities.

The festival also started to feature performances from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Moscow State Ballet, among others. The festival is known for its staunch advocacy of local work, paving the way for local artists and performers to be introduced and be recognized by the international community.

The festival brings together the best in theater, classical music, comedy, visual arts, dance, folk and popular music, literature and jazz. Each year, the festival features cultures from many different countries like France, the United States and South Africa.

For 2008 the festival celebrates its 46th anniversary coinciding with the centennial celebration of Queen's University. It will commence with the Ulster Bank Opening Concert on October 17.

Highlights from past Belfast Festivals:

Belfast Festival 2007

Although the 2007 festival was threatened by a scarcity in funding, organizers were able to celebrate its 45th year and once again were able to secure the festival's reputation for bringing out the best that the UK culture has to offer.

The government awarded the organizers a 150,000 pound grant to help cover expenses. The Arts Minister, Edwin Poots also pledged a grant of 300,000 pounds over the course of three years for the festival. Highlights from this year's celebrations include Ute Lemper's cabaret performance, music from the Tiger Lillies, an adaptation of Macbeth and a performance from Raphael Bonachela- a choreographer who works with Kylie Minogue. Other guests include John Prine, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Sean Hughes and Bill Bailey.

Belfast Festival 2006

The Spiegeltent, an art nouveau pavilion that showcased first-rate performances ranging from global musical entertainment to comedy presentations was one of the main features of this year's festival. Another highlight was the performance of Jose Cura, one of the world's leading tenors. In this year's festival, the organizers also presented Crackers, a combination of spectacular fireworks display and musicals as well as other live performances. There were over 15 participating countries in the festival including Somalia, Sweden, Norway, United States, France, Cuba, Spain, Argentina and Russia.

Belfast Festival 2005

This year's festival opened with a concert featuring Marianne Faithful along with the Ulster Orchestra. Other noted performance was that of Lithuanian production of Romeo and Juliet, an adaptation of A Clockwork Orange and traditional Irish music from the band, Dervish.

Do you want to download full movie of Street Kings Online. Well, there are a lot of sites offering the Tom Ludlov detective character's movie. But you have got to consider a few options before choosing the movie download site.

Some sites charge per download while the others charge you a one time fee and offer unlimited downloads. It is better that you go for the one time payment option because it'll let you download unlimited movies not only one with which you can have your own collection of your favorite movies.

Some sites like Warez offer free downloads when you sign up for porn sites but you must avoid them as they are illegal. The one time fee sites look similar but each has its own set of features.

Some of them will allow you to download only to your computer while the others will let you to download to your ITunes and these downloads are also compatible with the latest portable devices. There are also sites that support DVD burning and conversion to Mp3 Format. The design of these is similar yet there is a difference in the features they offer.

Clarity is also an important thing when you are downloading. You don't want your download of Street Kings to be of poor quality. Only few of these offer DVD clarity downloads. Speed is another thing you need to ensure. Some sites have poor download speeds while the others offer high speed downloads. If the speed is really low then you'll never have successfully downloaded Street Kings in your computer.

You must also verify with the titles offered by the site. Some sites offer around a million while the others have around 80 million titles. It's better to consider the 80 million one as you can have your own library of your favorite movies. You must also check that the site offers spyware, adware and virus protection.

WatchDirect is one such download site that offers Prom Night and has around 80 million titles in their library. WatchDirect includes game downloads, music and television show downloads with spyware, virus and adware protection. Latin Thug - 4 Life Ash - T-Shirt

A student recently asked me; "Why is improvisation so mysterious." My response was that there is nothing mysterious about it at all.

Of course, I'm saying this because I have years of experience under my belt, but truthfully, once you understand that all you need to improvise is chords, the mystery disappears and satisfaction takes it place.

Most of the problems students have with improvising is their fear of trying it. They think they need to know college theory or advanced harmony first in order to begin creating in the moment. Nothing could be further from the truth! In fact, extensive knowledge of harmony and theory can actually create more problems than they solve.

For instance, in one of my piano lessons, Lesson 3: "Rainforest," I have two chords down in my left hand. I then use the G Major scale to improvise a melody and that's that! Nothing hard about it. No mystery here - just fun!

Once you have a definite exercise to play and know what your hands will be doing, it frees you up to create. You no longer have to worry about which chords to play or how to play them. You can focus your attention on the act of improvising melody and experience the joy of improvisation!

The Future is Unwritten-DVD Documentary

Julien Temple, one of the early documentarians of the London punk scene and director of the 2000 Sex Pistols film The Filth and the Fury, turns his attention now to that other seminal British band: The Clash--or more accurately, to the band's co-founder, lyricist, rhythm guitarist and lead singer, Joe Strummer. The Future is Unwritten is more than just a biography of Strummer; it is a tribute and exploration of a musician, artist and devoted humanist. Though Temple respects and admires Strummer (his influence is exalted by close friends, peers and fans like Bono and John Cusack), he doesn't romanticize this larger-than-life personality and presents Strummer honestly and not always in flattering light, though the director's fondness for his subject is constant. Most movingly, Strummer himself provides the narration via reassembled excerpts from a variety of interviews and the BBC radio show he hosted during the nineties. In the wrong hands, this could be contrived, but in this masterful documentary it serves as a testament to not just Joe Strummer the myth, but Joe Strummer the man, telling us his story in vivid detail. The Future is Unwritten is a moving and personal portrait of a musician who helped shaped not just punk, but modern music as a whole. --Kira Canny
Customer Review: Amazing movie about a rock legend
There have been several movies made about Joe Strummer but Julien Temple's is unique in its personal touch. Temple was a friend of Strummer's for many years and so had insight into the man behind the music that many people did not have. The movie consists of Joe's life story as told by many friends, acquaintances, fellow artists and others who knew him or were influenced by him over the years. Amazing music, very well put-together, and just a great story about a man who was a huge influence on rock & roll and politics during his time on this earth. Joe was taken from the world too early when he died unexpectedly in December 2002 and after watching this movie one can only wonder what more he would have accomplished. The opening scene of Joe singing "White Riot" a capella in the studio is complemented by the closing scene of Joe and Mick Jones reuniting on stage 20+ years later to perform the same song...even though they were old (and Mick a little bald!) they still ROCKED. If you like the Clash, you must see this movie!!

Minefield Tapdance

During summer, people will have a lot of time in their hands. It will be really pity to spend time "vegetating" at home without doing anything. In order to maximize your time and energy, you can learn a new skill. Dancing is one of the skills that you can try; sign up in a summer dance camp. A summer dance camp is essentially a program in which its key aim is to teach the students various dance styles. There are different dance camps that offer programs focusing on detailed dance styles. Some even offer an entire bunch of dancing styles in single summer dance camp program.

There are many kinds of dance styles which dance camps offer which includes hip hop dance, ballroom dance, ballet dance, Irish dance, jazz dance, modern dance and other styles. You can choose to focus on any one style or enlarge your dance move repertoire by learning diverse styles. The summer dance program may also be classified by stage of the enrollee. If the individual is only starting to learn the dance style, there are many beginner summer dance camps. If he wishes to learn more challenging techniques and aims to develop their skill in a certain style they can enroll in an intermediate or an advanced summer dance program.

The main advantage of enrolling in a summer dance course is that it is very good for your health (exercise), it will serve as a strain reliever, you'll be learning fresh skills and techniques and it can expand your imaginative and artistic abilities. One more advantage of dance camps is the time factor. Some dance camps only last for a few days while other dance camp programs give you more time to practice, learn and cooperate with other people. Just make it sure to carry out your research well and collect the requirement before the start of summer. Try to make your summer have sunny memories, practice and progressive knowledge with summer dance camps.

One of the main entertaining forms of different expressions is seen in the synchronized movement of a person's body. One of the main dancing styles that have caught the numerous eyes of the youth is the hip hop dancing. It's a dance form that slowly developed as it gradually gained the attention and interest of many dance enthusiasts. This hip hop dancing has developed so big that there are even camps that put forward programs specializing in this style only.

First hip hop dance branches out into diverse dance styles which was originally seen on the street. Some of the hip hops dancing styles include break-dance, old school, popping and locking etc. These kinds of dancing styles grew more popularity when hip hop and the rap music videos began to showcase the various hip hop dance moves from various hip hop dance styles. If you wish for learning the moves seen on television and different dance competition, just try out for a hip hop dance camp. The main advantage of learning from a hip hop dance camp is that you will be taught from the fundamentals from experienced professionals.

Mari Milian is an Expert author for Children summer camps and boys summer camps. She has written many articles like Youth summer camps, Horseback riding camp, Music summer camps and Paintball camp.

The exceptionally talented Pop artist Alanis Morissette has released her CD entitled Jagged Little Pill. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Alanis Morissette fans, and Pop fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Jagged Little Pill Alanis Morissettes artistic excellence is on full display as Morissette has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be her best work to date.

Unfortunately, its not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just cant force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Jagged Little Pill. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Pop music fans will recognize some of the well known guests that have been assembled to play along with Morissette on several of the tracks. Artists like Michael Thompson and Michael Landau just to name a couple.

If you're even mildly into Pop music you'll enjoy this CD. Overall Jagged Little Pill is an outstanding release. I give it my double thumbs up. You will not be disappointed with one single track.

While the entire CD is really very good some of my favorites are track 4 - Hand In My Pocket, track 5 - Right Through You, and track 13 - You Oughta Know

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - All I Really Want. Wow!

Coldplay (Group, B&W, Original) Music Poster Print - 24" X 36"

This poster is 24 inches by 36 inches approximately and is in mint condition.

Stepping is a rhythmic performance art practiced by Black Greek-lettered fraternities and sororities across the nation. It combines intricate footwork, foot stomps, hand movements, vocals, and handclaps. Stepping is also an expression of unity.

"When you come together in synchronized motions, you're becoming one," says Aurelius Butler, Treasurer of Alpha Phi Alpha, Mu chapter. "For us, stepping signifies brotherhood. We will never tell a brother he couldn't step. If he's a bad stepper, he's just going to have to try harder."

Stepping evolved from the chants and dances that slaves did to remind themselves of their homelands. You can find stepping wherever you find African America Greek-lettered fraternities.

Stepping is an age-old tradition among black fraternities and sororities. It involves intricate footwork, specialized hand movements, songs and chants. But what is it really about Stepping that these college students find so compelling? This is what they're saying:

"Dancing has always been a means of expression in African culture," Reginald Price, a fourth-year business management and marketing student, is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, said. "Over time it has evolved into stepping."

"A step can be created at any given time," Price said. "A designated step master views step shows from other chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and adds his own style and flair."

"To me stepping is a way to show what your fraternity represents through both words and performance," said Marcus Bryant, a fourth-year electrical engineering student and member of Phi Beta Sigma.

"Our steps have been passed down each year through the generations of Sigmas," Bryant said.

"You're creating beauty and dance out of nothing but you and your (sisters), and that's a special thing," says Ashanti Huey, fourth-year public relations student and member of Sigma Gamma Rho. "On the other hand, it means long nights with no sleep, sweating like crazy and losing weight from the workout."

Davida Isaac, a third-year early childhood education student and member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority says, "When we step, we are very sharp and crisp with our movements. It sounds like one beat and looks like one movement."

Mastering and performing this dance form is a traditional part of the initiation process in many African American sororities and fraternities, but stepping has more recently become a popular activity for children and teens.

Stepping now occurs almost everywhere. College dorms at HBCUs have teams, predominantly White fraternities and sororities may step during Greek Week. High school and youth groups step, as well as some church youth groups. Furthermore, stepping is very popular with other culturally-based fraternal organizations--Latin, Asian, and multicultural.

Whatever their ideas of the performance art, Stepping, all step team members agree that the dance unifies them and reminds them of their African roots. Because of its reliance on rhythm, it is very fascinating to watch groups of young men and women moving to a single beat in unison, a reminder of a time when all African Americans shared the same pain and heartbreak of days when they were slaves.

MyStepShow.com is a free video sharing community website that features step team performances. Members can post and share video footage of their stepteam performances. Visit http://www.MyStepShow.com to learn more about the tradition of stepping.

Now, these are just some of the many choices you have to download unlimited music. Its hard to decide which one is the best, but there are handles or things you can consider before you choose a music download site.

1. Pricing

Expensive does not equate to good. Some sites charge lower fees for per track or subscription service because they have much lower overheads and advertising costs than the more famous sites. This gives them a competitive edge over the big boys in the music industry.

2. Music Quality

Is the music quality good? You will be surprised that there can be some slight differences in song quality downloaded at various sites. There is a lot of science that goes into this such as the compression format and bit rates. Check out samples offered by these sites to hear and differentiate.

3. Music Format

You need to check the format of music offered for compatibility with your PC or MP3 player. MP3, OGG, AAC, WMA, ATRAC are some of the more common formats. I have to caution you here because not all formats are playable on your PC music client application or MP3 player. Take for instance; ATRAC3 can only be played on Sonys Connect players. There is no point to download unlimited music if you cannot even listen to them.

4. Read the Reviews

Do a quick search online and read the reviews of each site where you can download unlimited music.

One of the more striking aspects of the Beijing Opera is the Masks and Facial Make-up used to portray the various characters in a production. The use of symbolic colors, stylized lines, and fantastical facial exaggeration all serve the performance magic and grandeur. There is really nothing that compares to a skillful and artistic rendition of one of China's favorite stories from historical events and classical literature.

The current Beijing Opera originated from a combination of several sources. In 1790, the four great theatre groups from Anhui came to perform for the Royal Family. They used the traditional melodies and aria called Xi Pi. Around 1828, performers from Hubei joined them to form a combined troupe adding their own music called Er Huang. Thousands of pieces were performed regaling great tales of historic events and popular literature as well as their own versions of Western stories.

There have been scholarly discussions concerning the origins of Chinese theatrical mask wearing and face painting. A widely held theory is that face painting developed from the dances called " Lanlingwang (Prince Lanling)" from the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907).

Another possible origin of this practice is rooted in the ancient use of Masks and Make-up in religious ceremonies, particularly exorcisms. There are examples of artwork that show shamans and other actors with stylized painted faces. Upon closer examination, these look very much like the early used of face painting and mask wearing in the Chinese opera theatre.

There is an old saying from the Song (960-1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties that was, "Shentou guimian", or "masks for Gods, make-up for ghosts." It meant that to play a god you must wear a mask, but to play a ghost all you needed was to slap some paint on your face. This followed the idea that gods were sacred and it would be sacrilegious, perhaps even dangerous, to portray them, whereas ghosts, the embodiment of disease, poverty and evil were not subject to such respect. Craftsmen who carved Deity masks believed that as soon as the eyes were carved out of a piece of art, it then became animated with the spirit of the gods.

Over time, actors began to think that it was less a sin to portray gods and spirits on the stage instead of in temples and palaces. They started to favor make-up over the stoic solid masks in performance. This allowed for more expression over the "dead face" of a mask to the "live face" of paints and dyes.

For the longest time, performers took great liberty in their choice of paint methods and colors. Later, during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) did there become some conventions and standards. An agency called Shengpingshu (Shengping Agency) was in charge of the affairs of opera performance. They established painting of more than 200 of the current operas with detailed instructions on the character make-up patterns. This became the official standard for face painting.

There are four basic categories of characters in the standard Beijing Opera.

SHENG - Male roles

DAN - Female Roles

CHOU - Comedy roles

JING - Painted face males

Jing, usually males, are the roles with facial painting representing warriors, heroes, statesmen, adventurers, and demons. Jing are found in three basic categories: Zhengjing, Fujing, and Wujing.

The JING roles are more known for courage and resourcefulness than for intelligence. Sometimes a High-ranking General or Warrior/General they usually have a swagger and great self-assurance. There are many common color schemes associated with Jing roles but some have more convention and are easily recognizable.

The compositions of face painting are classified into several patterns based on the belief that a person's face can reveal much about their personality. The overall designs of the face painting are given names like, "three-tiles face", "six-tenths face", "cross face", "slant face", "butterfly face" as well as many, many others.

The colors used on a Jing actors face have symbolic meaning.

RED - Good character, heroic

WHITE - Sneaky and treacherous

GREEN - Rash, lacking self-control

BLACK - Brusque character

BLUE - Wild nature, a robber or thief

GOLD/SILVER - Used only for Gods and Spirits

There are two main types of facial decorations in Chinese Opera: Masks and Facial Painting. Sometimes there are many changes of masks and make-up (even some without the audience's knowledge), this is called Changing Faces. It is a difficult technique that is only mastered after many years of serious and extensive training. This is sometimes used to display the feelings of a character or change the energy of the particular scene. Facial changes for sudden emotional changes are usually done in four ways:

BLOWING DUST - The actor blows black dust concealed in his palm so that it blows back into his face.

MANIPULATING BEARD - Beard colors can be changed while the beard is being moved from black to gray to white showing anger or excitement.

PULLING DOWN MASKS - The actor can pull down a mask that has been sitting on top of his head to communicate a special emotional change.

MOP - The actor mops out the greasepaint hidden in his sideburns or eyebrows to change his facial appearance.

The colorful and flamboyant Jing characters of Beijing Opera theatre with the Beijing Opera Mask as well as facial make-up are enduring part of this very exquisite and beautiful art form. Audiences around the world marvel at the technical virtuosity as well as the austerity of the productions in this symbolic Chinese cultural event.
