The Best of Coldplay for Easy Piano: Updated Edition

Easy piano arrangements of 12 songs from these acclaimed British pop/rockers. Includes the mammoth hits Yellow and Clocks plus: Amsterdam Don't Panic Everything's Not Lost Green Eyes In My Place Rush of Blood (A Rush of Blood to the Head) The Scientist Sparks Trouble A Warning Sign.
Customer Review: Not original arangements or really even close
I'm surprised that none of the other reviews mentioned the fact that these "arrangements" are very different from the originals. The melody (vocals) is in the right-hand treble clef and simple base notes in the left. These are not really the chords that are played by the band, and it is virtually impossible to sing along with what is written, unless you like singing exactly the same thing your right hand is playing. And there's not enough of a chord in the left hand to fill it out if you just drop the right and sing it. I'm fairly disappointed in this. Maybe if all you're looking for is a similar sounding arrangement and don't plan to sing, then this may be the book for you.
Customer Review: As advertised
The music was easy piano by my standards, a quick learn and authentic enough to the true sound of Coldplay as well.

I can describe the latest release from Jazz super group Weather Report for you with just one word Outstanding!

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce thats exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and youve got one of Weather Report most impressive releases ever.

Overall Mr Gone is excellent from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Jazz fan. Really sensational from beginning to end.

While this entire CD is outstanding some of my favorites are track 2 - River People, track 3 - Young And Fine, and track 8 - And Then

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - The Pursuit Of The Woman With The Feathered Hat. Outstanding!

Don't Panic

We often talk about wedding receptions once the receptions are over. The people at the wedding, the wedding site, the food, the drink, the music, the pleasantries exchanged, the bonhomie and the steady trickle of joy of being part of a social event reminds us later that it was the greatest wedding reception that we ever attended. Whom you danced with, did your favorite band entertain. Was the location beside a lake or on a yacht every detail is embedded in your memory. Later the memories come rushing in to make you feel mushy.

Setting the emotions aside, wedding receptions are remembered for the sheer grandeur of the arrangements made in terms of food, drink, music, the wedding site, and the ambience. No wonder people are willing to spend lavishly on wedding receptions to make it a memorable one. Wedding entertainment has an endearing importance, as the bride and the groom are interested in entertaining the guests to make the day memorable. Variety is being added to songs, dances, food and decorations. Jugglers, fire-eaters, magicians, stand up comedians and professional band have all entered the scene as a part of wedding entertainment.

Wedding entertainment mostly means music entertainment that can be live or otherwise. Wedding music bands, wedding DJs, solo wedding musicians, solo wedding singers, and wedding music ensembles all comprise the wedding entertainment schedule. Depending on the mood and atmosphere of the day, these performers can be hired to perform. While a DJ would play music as per planned, he also would ask the guests to request for songs of their choice. Music entertainment also means performance either by musicians and singers, solo or in groups. A pianist playing your favorite music while the guests enjoy the delectable food can be very soothing. If you wish, your guests to dance chose such music as Latin, Swing Band or even Rock and Roll. A Jazz or Cover band would give a more sophisticated feel. As far as live music entertainment is concerned the band selection offers choice across the spectrum that include Country, Cover, Dance, Jazz, Latin, Motown, Oldies, Reggae, Rock, Steel Drum, Swing, Top 40, and the periods like 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s band.

While live music entertainment limits the music to a particular genre once the selection is made, a DJ offers a mix of whatever you want, from any era, any musician and any song. You should make up your mind to what tune you would love your guests to enjoy and dance to, whether slow and romantic, or hip and exciting. Whether it is going to be Louis Armstrongs What a wonderful world or a Whitney Houston romantic song. The results are the guests would be left with an unforgettable wedding experience and treasure it forever.

Customer Review: No rhythm no problem
I will say this I'm Hispanic so I did know some Salsa before I purchased this DVD. I wanted to learn some advanced moves and I realized before I purchased this video that prob wasn't for me. It wasn't but it did teach me some basic concepts in general. It also taught me how to turn. I'm a natural dancer but it gave me concrete steps which I just do without thinking. That being said I do believe this will teach ANYBODY to dance. He gives so much detail and repetition there is no way you won't be able to pick it up. I love the hand tricks. Also I didn't have a partner and this a partner video. Don't buy if you have dance experience.
Customer Review: Easy to follow.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow. My husband has absolutely no rythym and he picked up the steps.

Belly Dancing is a very popular form of entertainment in Turkey. It is quite common to find dancers performing in nightclubs and restaurants all over the country. However belly dancers are often hired for private events such as weddings, festivals, shows and parties.

In Turkey belly dancing has a long-standing tradition that has lately become a hot tourist attraction. In spite of its popularity these dances remain an intrinsic part of the private lives of all Turks regardless of age or class, and in its most basic form it is a dance for fertility.

In its native tongue it is called "Gobek dans" and it is still growing and changing even today especially as it comes under the influence of various cultures. And the authorities are mixed on where they believe the original dance came from, some say from the Greeks and others claim that it is from the Egyptians.

In The Clubs

The art is very popular in Turkish nightclubs and is a profitable profession for women who receive their tips from men literally showering them in paper money, or by stuffing bills into their costumes. And of course a little known fact is that men also belly dance. It is not uncommon for men to jump up out of the audience and accompany the woman on stage. Of course this happens more often at private parties or festivals than in the clubs.

Worldwide Popularity

As belly dancing spreads the globe it is enjoying increased popularity as it hits different parts of the world. Perhaps the allure of the dance is due to its rich heritage that makes it so unique as a dance style. Because of this heritage many people associate the belly dancing from Turkey with religion and exoticism. And of course this causes some strong opinions about the art; some love it while others despise it.

The Music

In Turkey the dancer is generally a well-curved woman, with strong abs muscles who dances to a backdrop of traditional music. She will often accompany the music with the use of clangs, which are the little bells used during a Turkish belly dance. The music is very rhythmic and the dance emphasizes the movement of the hips and chest. The movements are solid and organic as the dancer moves bare foot across the floor in order to remain connected to the earth.

The Movements

The cadence of the dancers body parts are the main characteristic of this style. The dancer moves with fluid, supple and well-integrated movements which are very sensual in nature. Most movements concentrate on the hips and shoulders, which alternate with shimmy and sliding moves.

Various other items are used by dancers, which are specific to Turkey such as serpents, swords, veils and candles. These items are most widely used in Turkish folk dances, and are said to have mystical powers. The use of a snake during dances come from the ancient cults and are a foundational element symbolizing male and female sexuality and even the concept of immortality.

PARACHUTES (VINYL)

Their Eagerly Awaited Debut Full Length. Garnered Rave Reviews on their Nme Tour with Shack, Gomez and Bellatrix. Often Compared to Radiohead and Jeff Buckley.
Customer Review: Baa Baa Baa
They can play their instruments - about as inventively as 14 year olds, picking up a guitar for the first time. They do write their own songs - in that tired old vein of British pop, everything's the same. The singing is a joke - why do the sheep take that whole falsetto bull**** so seriously? If you buy this - you're over 20 and slowly your braincells are crumbling, soon you'll spend every Sunday shopping with your partner, drink half a bottle of wine a night, you'll tut at children with any hint of life, you'll begin to get indignant about manners, you'll find Terry Wogan funny ... and then you'll die, having only ever listened to mid-tempo soft rock.
Customer Review: GREAT ALBUM
This CD is moody. If you want really uplifting music, this isn't the best album to pick up. The musical talent displayed in this CD is amazing. They have great guitarists, an amazing drummer, especially on the track Trouble, and great vocals and piano, both done by Martin. Great CD.

Stress, it is something that comes up in all of our lives. However, stress is one of the key factors in the ever growing problem of obesity. Recent studies have shown the more stress there is in a person’s life the greater the chance of them becoming obese. Luckily there are a number of ways for reducing stress that can help those of you that experience high levels of stress. The first way is to make sure to set aside time to relax and do something you enjoy. Put all thoughts of whatever it is that puts stress on you out of your mind and concentrate on doing whatever it is you enjoy. If you are on a schedule then schedule the time and use a timer or alarm to keep track but for that time put everything aside. It can be something as small as taking a nap, or reading a book.

Meditation

Meditation is a great way to reduce stress and increase concentration and cognitive speeds. By meditating, clearing the mind and relaxing the body you can allow stress to flow from you. Not only that but often times meditation can provide the answers to questions or problems that are causing stress in the first place.

Exercise

Not only can exercise work to relieve tension in the body and the mind but it is a good way to fight obesity. If you are stressed consider going for a run, or heading to the gym. Even just putting on some dance music and dancing can help relieve tension, reduce stress and keep your muscles and body in shape.

Taking regular time off

This is something that most people don’t do. The human body simply wasn’t designed to work the way we work our bodies. Taking time to rest and recharge is essential to removing stress and thereby preventing obesity.

Diet

There are a lot of things in the diet of average people that are causing an increase in toxins. Highly processed foods, fast foods, and fatty foods are all contributing factors. These toxins put unnecessary stress on the body, slowing its processes down and making it a less efficient machine. This is also a form of stress and a definite contributing factor to obesity.

If stress is a major part of your life and you are obese or are in a risk category for obesity consider the before mentioned ways of reducing stress to help make sure you can fight against obesity and make sure you stay healthy as well as happy.

Ancient and Pre-historic Music

When you have no words to tell your feelings, silence is the best way to express it. But sometimes when silence fails to do its work, we take refuge to music. To quote Aldous Huxley After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music. Music has the magical powers to tell the world your thoughts and feelings. It is the best creation of the Gods' best creation (man). A song floating from any distant place would fill your heart with sudden joy and remove your sadness. There are different kinds of music to describe the different kinds of moods.

But what made man to create this rhythm or what is the source of his inspiration and creation? To answer this question we have to travel thousands of years back, when man was nomadic or was not fully civilized. It might be that long-long ago man was enticed by the natural beauty and sounds. The chirping of birds, the quivering of the lissome rivers or the gushing wind must have created some ripples in his heart and led him to produce this melody. So we can say that nature taught man to give birth rhythm. Every object of nature is steeped in music. Man learned to create music against the natural backdrop of sound. The music produced by the animals and birds in the form of sound which use to communicate, taught them to make this melodious discovery. Music is found in every culture and society, both past and present. However there is gulf of differences in their type and style.

Scientists believe that the modern human beings have emerged from Africa some 160,000 years ago. Around 50,000 years ago, they began to disperse to all the habitable continents around the world. As music is traced in all the cultures, including the most isolated groups of people, so scientists hold the view that music must have existed even before the dispersal of human beings. Thus it has been concluded that the first music must have originated in Africa. Some evolutionary biologists hold the view that the ability to recognize the sound not created by human beings as musical gives them a selective advantage. Prehistoric music or also once called as primitive music, is the name given to all kinds of music in the prehistoric culture. The prehistoric era ends with the development of writing and so with that, ends the prehistoric music.

The oldest known song was written in cuneiform in harmonies of thirds using Pythagorean tuning of the diatonic scale, about 4000 years ago from Ur. It was deciphered by Prof. Daffkorn Kilmer. At that era double pipes, bagpipes, double flutes were most prevalent. In Indus Valley Civilization, however, seven holed flutes as well as uses of string instruments prove that music was well cultured art in ancient period.

All these information clearly present the idea that, from the very beginning of human civilization and even before that, music was a great companion in the struggles for existence. The buoyancy of music relieved wretched prehistoric people from their grief, sorrows, fear and loneliness. It is those feelings which led man to explore more and more into the fields of music.

You will need DJ services for your wedding reception, but unless you're close to someone who spins records, you may not know how to go about finding the right person. This article will give you tips on how to find a wedding dj.

First, you've got to know what kind of music you desire. While many disk jockeys say they have "everything," finding out what their specialty is may save you trouble at the reception. This is especially true if what you're looking for is something other than rock/pop.

In principle, always get references. Talk to other brides and grooms about their experiences with the DJ you're contemplating. When you're viewing a DJ's website, check to make sure he or she has testimonials. Also, you may feel like asking the DJ if he has a tape of himself taken at another wedding.

Once you have a short list of DJs, meet the contenders in person. This way, you can check out their personality and make sure their "look" is acceptable for your wedding.

Make sure the DJ's music is up to date, particularly if you plan to use a lot of recent music. Nothing keeps people off the dance floor more than tired songs.

Ensure that the Disk Jockey has Professional Liability Insurance. If you don't - and Aunt May trips over the DJ's cords - you could get sued yourself.

Determine whether the DJ has emcee duties or whether he will just play music. Make sure all obligations are clear (preferably in writing) ahead of time.

What will the DJ do if his sound system breaks down? Because most DJs have moved into the digital era, you'll want to know what the emergency plan is if the DJ has to suddenly boot up.

The DJ should know the dress code and what you expect him to wear. Make this clear ahead of time and it will save you annoyance at the event.

If the DJ has worked the venue previously, you can ask him for help with entertainment logistics. Consider this an extra.

Finally, you will want to get everything down in writing. The contract is your formal protection as to price, what happens in the event that the DJ cannot make it, and logistics.

Getting a good wedding DJ is necessary for the success of your reception. Follow the tips in this article and you'll be well on your way to finding the perfect wedding DJ.

If you have dreams of performing in the Winchester theatre royal, you have to consider that acting classes aren't cheap, and sometimes you even have to pay a hefty sum for being in a showcase, without any guarantee of getting an agent. Make sure you have enough money set aside for your acting needs.

Dance classes can also be additional training, though acting is what you will need most. Audition for school plays and community theatre for the experience!

I think they both have their merits, and they're both just so extraordinarily different with entirely different energies. For people who have never done theater, it's a difficult thing, because you have to be focused for an hour-and-a-half to two hours, whereas in film, if you shoot more than a page-and-a-half all at once, that's a pretty long scene. Then again, some people just learn things differently than others. Use whatever method best serves you.

By contrast, when you project a facade that differs from what you think and who you really are inside, others sense the disparity. When your speaking and who you are being don't match, it keeps you from being heard and decreases your personal effectiveness. It's time to imagine a different world. When doing a scene, if I say I'm at a restaurant, every single audience member could have a different image of where that scene takes place. One person might think fast food while another thinks fine dining.

For those looking for a job in acting, finding a talent agent is important. But, technology gives us a chance to create what we want instead of waiting for a call. Many people have found agents after they got their first gig. If a casting director really likes you and thinks you have the right look they will call you in for an audition. Actors, for instance, audition with directors and casting agents, hoping to show that they can play the role for which they're auditioning. Musicians hand out tapes and CDs of their music to convince nightclub and theater owners to book them for gigs.

The Winchester theatre royal and Army museums two fantastic sites to visit.

If you want to learn Spanish fast, you will have to be prepared to do a bit of work, but there are many ways in which you can speed up the learning process.

If you are planning a trip, you should have a look at a guide book of the area you'll be going to and buy a good phrase book and dictionary. Take a look at some Spanish language courses in your local book store, as these often include chapters about particular regions of Spain or Latin America. If you find one which covers the area you are visiting, this will save you a lot of time, as you'll be able to learn the Spanish names of main areas of town or countryside as well as street names and areas of interest to tourists. Of course, this is most likely to apply to main towns or tourist areas.

Pronunciation is extremely important if your main goal is to speak Spanish, but don't forget that you need to develop your listening as well, as being able to say all sorts of
things with perfect pronunciation will not get you far if don't understand the answers.

Listening is incredibly important and fortunately, thanks to modern technology, one of the easiest skills to practice. If you find an online course which has a large selection of audio lessons, which you can download in mp3 format, you can listen to these on your iPod. You don't even need to set aside time to do this, as listening repeatedly when you
have a few spare minutes will help enormously.

If you can't find someone local - no problem! Find someone in Spain or Latin America who will chat with you on Skype. It's a great way to help each other learn pronunciation and vocabulary and if you don't understand anything you can ask questions. Best of all -it's free! If you get on well, you can help each other with other aspects of the language, such as grammar, reading and writing. In the past, many people developed their language skills by writing to a penpal, but the internet has improved this method, allowing you to speak and listen as well as read, write and get instant feedback via email and Skype.

So if you want to learn Spanish fast, you no longer have to apply to college and wait weeks or months for the next class at your level to begin. Instead, you can make use of the resources available online - Spanish courses which you can download immediately and native speakers you can find and start chatting to very quickly.

Intros, Endings and Turnarounds for Keyboard: Essential Phrases for Swing, Latin, Jazz Waltz, and Blues Styles

Learn the intros, endings and turnarounds that all of the pros know and use! This new keyboard instruction book by John Valerio covers swing styles, ballads, Latin tunes, jazz waltzes, blues, major and minor keys, vamps and pedal tones, and more.
Customer Review: This book is fun ...
The book has well written, very musical phrases. The author suggests usage with several standards that should be in everyone's play book and it's fun to work them in with tunes you already know - in the proper keys. Take them apart, and there is something to learn in most of them. Great for browsing. The printing is good and the binding isn't troublesome on the rack. Nice experience. I would have rated it a five, but some of the pages have a tendency to work loose.
Customer Review: I love this book
I try to spend a half hour with it every night. This book will appeal to a wide range of interests. Whether you are a composer interested in theory, or a keyboardist enhancing your chops, there is something here for you. Most examples are four-measures long, but rich in musicality (kind of like what the Bach chorales are for those studying classical music.) The examples progress from simple chord progressions to more complex, and each is one is clearly explained. Nice melodies too! It is apparent that the author has spent a lot of time with each of the sub-genres (swing, ballads, blues, Latin, etc.) and has distilled his knowledge into a neat recipe book that will serve as a launching point for those wishing to further their expertise.
