Talk, Pt. 2

The Second Part of a Three Part Single Set. "Talk" is One of the Stand Out Tracks on Coldplay's Multi-platinum Third Album, "x&y", Q Magazine's #1 Album of the Year 2005. The Title Track's Melody is Built from Portion of Kraftwerk's "Computer Love" and it is Coupled with Two Exclusive Songs Recorded at the Band's 2005 Appearance at the Gelredome in Arnhem, Nederlands: "Square One" and "Clocks".
Customer Review: Second disc of a three disc set
Talk, Pt. 2, an import from Holland on the Parlophone label, includes the second of three CD singles featuring the title song. Talk, Pt. 1 includes the nice tri-fold digipak case with spaces left for the separately available parts 2 and 3. The three singles are supposedly only available for a limited time. The breakdown of the three discs is as follows: Part 1: (Amazon AISN B000CNGG9Y) 1. Talk (Radio Edit) 2. Swallowed in the Sea (Live in Holland) 3. God Put A Smile Upon You Face (Live in Holland) Part 2 (this disc): (Amazon AISN B000CNGGA8) 1. Talk (Album Version) 2. Square One (Live in Holland) 3. Clocks (Live in Holland) Part 3: (Amazon AISN B000CNGGAI) 1. Talk (Live in Holland) 2. Til Kingdom Come (Live in Holland) 3. Fix You (Live in Holland) Part 1 only warrants a three-star rating from me because it includes the Radio Edit of Talk. But the live tracks are good. Part 2 goes up to four stars because it includes the album version of Talk, and an excellent live rendition of Square One from X&Y. Part 3 also warrants four stars for the live tracks from X&Y, great performances all. Note that these discs have WMA copy protection. If you would like to extract tracks for your MP3 player or iPod, you will need to use a Mac to do so. By the way, parts 2 and 3 come in shrinkwrapped sleeves. This is one more reason to get part 1 and the nice tri-fold digipak.

Good exercise music has a way of putting us into a rhythm where we tend to forget about time. If you have carefully

selected your workout music you will find yourself looking forward to your workout. Music has a way of stimulating us physically and emotionally. This stimulation can be perfect motivation to help you with your workout.

But..

If you just listen to just anything it may be a little difficult to reap the full benefits of what the
right music can do for your workout so that is why you need to listen to some music with some beats that keep an even count, so you probably don't want to listen to Ina-Gadda-Da-Vida By: Iron Butterfly or for you younger kids Hey Mama by: the Black Eyed Peas. Just because the rhythm is not even and steady to keep and even repetition pace. Besides when you get home their will be plenty of time to practice your harlem shake but for now you need to grow.

What is the best workout music? a specific exercise mix. You can purchase music to exercise to relatively inexpensively.

A good exercise mix will maintain steady beats while the original recording may slow or quicken at times that will disturb the flow of your workout. Once you get a good feel for what it sounds like, you could probably go about downloading your own C.D. of your choice.

I know not listening to the music that you download might be a pain because you like the music you have, obviously you want to listen to it! I tried it out for a while and listened to a friends and it worked so well I just downloaded songs that sounded close to the songs that I heard. It ended up working out well I had more energy and I stayed and worked out longer and did not rush through my exercise.

This is a helpful tip that I know has worked for people in the past. Steady techno, beats that can keep you more focused and in rhythm with your workout. Now most guys do not want to listen to techno because you are afraid your buddy 's going to catch you and ask if you want to glow stick dance. This is a good thing to at least try out if you embrace it oddly enough it works.

Well I hope this little bit can help you out when you need just a little boost. For some solid knowledgeable entertaining articles about weightlifting for beginners to intermediate on just about anything that has to do with lifting weights check us out !! Thanks for reading.

The answer to this question is yes. However, you need to remember that teaching yourself to play guitar is broken down into two categories. For instance, some people have a natural ability to learn to play instruments. These individuals can listen to a song on the radio, sit down with a guitar, and simply learn. However, the majority of people learn by watching, which is why sales for guitar-learning DVDs are on the rise.

The bottom line is that it is very possible to teach yourself how to play guitar but the key to your success will begin in understanding how you learn. If you are in the first category of being able to hear and then replicate great, but if you need some type of visual aid, you need to consider buying a good DVD for assistance. Remember, using some type of learning aid is not cheating, only enhancing.

If you want to play for personally enjoyment or to entertain friends and family, it is possible to teach yourself how to play guitar but you need to choose the right method. If you have never played before and want to use a DVD or even some type of instructional book or CD, then make sure you choose something geared toward a beginner. On the other hand, if you have some experience but want to build on your current skill, then you need aid that is more advanced.

Many professional guitarists have asked themselves the same question "Is it possible to teach yourself how to play guitar?" For some of these individuals, they have built lucrative careers based on self-taught guitar but some have gone on to take lessons or use a variety of teaching aids. Regardless, going the self-taught way offers a number of benefits in that you can learn to play at your pace but also using a method that works for you.

Just remember, when asking, "Is it possible to teach yourself how to play guitar", be realistic about your natural ability. If you do not have a natural ear for learning, there is nothing wrong with that. Therefore, pay attention to what you have to work with, understanding that we all have different abilities and ways of learning.

In teaching yourself how to play guitar, you also need to be fair to yourself on what you will and will not learn immediately. In other words, if you are expecting that you will sit down and within one hour be playing like Eric Clapton, it will not happen. Even if you have a natural ability for playing the guitar, it is going to take you time and hard work to hone your skill. Instead, you want to enjoy each learning session while not putting too much pressure on yourself to learn.

The bottom line, "Is it possible to teach yourself how to play guitar" - YES but be patient, choose the right type of guitar and music, and if necessary, use any number of quality learning aids now on the market. Before long, you will be playing beautiful music while having the gratification that you did much of the teaching on your own.

Customer Review: No rhythm no problem
I will say this I'm Hispanic so I did know some Salsa before I purchased this DVD. I wanted to learn some advanced moves and I realized before I purchased this video that prob wasn't for me. It wasn't but it did teach me some basic concepts in general. It also taught me how to turn. I'm a natural dancer but it gave me concrete steps which I just do without thinking. That being said I do believe this will teach ANYBODY to dance. He gives so much detail and repetition there is no way you won't be able to pick it up. I love the hand tricks. Also I didn't have a partner and this a partner video. Don't buy if you have dance experience.
Customer Review: Easy to follow.

Customer Review: Sound engeneer where are you?
The sound quality is horrendous, Mana make a lot of money off there fans I could not believe my ears. I end up play the cd and the videos Simultaneously to be happy. A live concert DVD is needed MANA.
Customer Review: Great Mexican rock band, great songs but...
When they made the DVD, there are some things they should have changed on it. If you're a Mana fan, you'll know all the songs. One live track, a cover of "El Rey" filmed in Montreux Switerland shows of Alex Gonzalez's drumming, something that doesn't come through on their studio tracks. As far as the videos themselves go, you see it going from something that is borderline public access video, to some embarrassing videos that are kind of humorous, to a more polished look towards the "Suenos Liquidos" videos, where it ends. Nothing from "Revolucion de Amor" or their song with Carlos Santana "Corazon Espinado" (which is on Carlos' "Supernatural" DVD) is included. Here's the complaints that I found more annoying than anything: the cover of Led Zeppelin's "Fool in the Rain", straight off of the "Econium" tribute video is them in the studio talking about recording the song. It either should be the full song or in the "extras". It's something that you wind up forwarding and gets annoying real fast. "Clavado En Un Bar" has 5 minutes of the "making of", yet you can't skip the making of, you have to forward it. Another one that belongs in the "extras". It's something that we should be able to enjoy with the TV on or off. The "in betweens" can get a little noisy at times but isn't a big deal. It's not in Surround Sound, but you can hear it playing in all the speakers. I'd like to see them revamp this one a little bit to make it more "DVD-friendly" and put out a live DVD which shows off how great they are in concert. Even if you don't understand Spanish, the music alone is good enough to enjoy...

Buying a guitar is really exciting. But it will be appropriate only if the whole buying process can be judged properly. Once you have decided what to buy, next question is, where to but it from? A proper decision should be taken after a proper research is done regarding the place from where to purchase the guitar.

Basically there are two options to buy a guitar. One is to buy it from a store selling guitar and other musical instruments and the other is to buy it online. However, in each case there are pros and cons. These should be known to the buyer as it will help to settle for the best choice. So let's find out what extract can be taken out from buying guitars online vs. buying guitars from a store.

Talking about buying guitars online vs. buying guitars from a store, the first fact that strikes the mind is inspecting the product. As it is known that it is necessary to examine the model properly before buying it, therefore, in this regard it is better to opt for the store. The reason is simple; it is only possible in a store to check out different guitars at a time before buying. The same is naturally not possible in case of online buying. Also here the payment has to be made first i.e. before the guitar is delivered. But some of the online sellers have return policies too which enables the buyer to return the defective instrument after examining it within the given time .

Next point about buying guitars online vs. buying guitars from a store, is that the buyer will have to depend on the advertisement in case of online process. Whatever it will portray about the company and the model, the buyer will have to believe. On the other hand while buying from the store the facts stated by ads can be easily verified.

Then again, in case of buying guitars online, sometimes the shipping costs for buying or returning the guitar can be expensive. On the other hand, the stores don't have such kind of issues. Most of the time there is no shipping charge. With it comes the oppurtunity of negotiating the price, which is not possible in the online buying process.

Surrounded by drawbacks, the online process has many advantages too as compared to the stores. Needless to say, the online process is really very comfortable. The main reason being the fact that it can be done from home, which saves the trouble of visiting a store that is situated far off.

In the debate of buying guitars online vs. buying guitars from a store, the next fact that comes along is getting a guitar expert opinion. While buying from the store you either have to rely on your judgment or dealer's words. But while buying guitars online, this facility is provided by way of product reviews from experts as well as comments from users who have experienced buying from a particular site before.

Digging out the next fact from the discussion regarding buying guitars online vs. buying guitars from a store, is the variety option. The online process offers endless options about the guitars. Any kind of model or brand, sometimes even the rare models are easily available on the Internet. Whereas, in the stores the options are most of the time less and the rare models needs placing special order.

One of the important fact regarding buying guitars online is that most of the time the online companies have no sales tax charges. This saves you some money when you buy guitar online.

These were some trade offs to be considered while deciding on buying guitars online vs. buying guitars from a store. The final decision to a large extent depends on the individual preference and circumstances.

Trouble (Polyphonic Ringtone)

This product is a great sounding polyphonic ringtone for your cell phone. Ringtones are musical tunes and sounds that are played whenever your phone rings. Your phone must support polyphonic tones to use this product.

Regardless of whether you are playing a gig or practising, you should always make sure you tune your acoustic guitar before playing it. There is nothing worse than a guitar that is out of tune and for a beginner this can be very frustrating so it is very important understand the importance of acoustic guitar tuning. The few moments it takes tune the guitar can really make a difference so it is very worthwhile to do.

If you use an electronic tuner you will get the best results if you are a beginner. It has a build in mic which picks up the sound with an indicator using a flashing light or meter telling you how close you are to the right pitch or whether a sound is too flat or too sharp. All you then do is adjust your acoustic guitar tuning accordingly by turning the string's tuning key.

You always tune your guitar from looser to tighter until it is in tune. This is also known as tuning up. Should you be too tight play the string a bit first before unwinding it or tuning down. It works much better if you loosen it by playing it a bit before tightening it again as it will give you much more accurate results and helps the string hold its tuning for longer.

Even if you are capable to do acoustic guitar tuning by ear you should always have a reference pitch at hand. If you have another second hand guitar, piano or tuning fork this could do an ok job, but an electronic tuner will give you more accurate results. Also if you are practising to learn to tune by ear, checking up on the electronic tuner to compare helps you train your ear better.

When you start to tune your guitar, start off tuning the thickest string (the sixth one) to low E. As soon as this string sounds right you can start tuning the other strings using that note as a reference point. This technique works and with good reason although it would take too long to explain why. Suffice to say that acoustic guitar tuning is just like knowing how to drive. You don't need to know all the mechanical aspects of how a car drives to be able to drive it. In the same way you don't need to know anything about music theory to be able to tune your guitar.

Here is a short summary how how to do your acoustic guitar tuning:

  1. Strum (in tune) the sixth string on the fifth fret. Tune the open fifth string to that exact note.
  2. Strum the fifth string on the fifth fret. Tune the open fourth string to the same note.
  3. Tune the fourth string on the fifth fret. Tune the open third to the same note.
  4. Follow closely; this is different than the above. Play the third string on the fourth fret and tune the open second string to this note.
  5. Play the second string on the fifth fret and tune your open first string to this note.

If you have just started out with acoustic guitar tuning, you might be better off to ask an expert from say the store where you bought your guitar to show how to tune the right way. Then practice, practice and then practice some more, as this is the only way to learn acoustic guitar tuning especially if you want to master how to do it by ear.

For novices it is best to start off using an electronic tuner when starting off doing acoustic guitar tuning. At around $20 they are moderately cheap to buy and well worth it as they are made specifically for this purpose and can identify what strings are being played making life much easier for beginners.

Viva La Vida

Coldplay release their fourth album "Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends" on Parlophone. The album comprises 10 brand new tracks, recorded in London, Barcelona and New York with producers Brian Eno and Markus Dravs. "Viva La Vida" follows the hugely successful album "X&Y", which has sold 10 million copies since its release in 2005.
Customer Review: Why did they paint on the Delacroix?
As with most all uber-hyped pop albums, this one doesn't go deep and raw enough to be fantastic (if it did, it would make too many enemies). However as chart toppers go, this one is straight from the heart, and will remain on my playlist for a long time. Chris Martin singing 'you didn't get to heaven, but you made it close/you didn't get to heaven, but you aaa.... (almost?)' is hard to forget. all songs have a crunchy revolutionary anthem feel that fits Martin like an old leather coat. One that i'll be wearing for a while.
Customer Review: If it wasn't so overhyped, I might be less critical...
Coldplay is good. They're better than most. Most rap, most country, most rock and DEFINITELY most pop. But Viva la Vida is extremely overexposed, and Coldplay have long been riding a tidal wave of mediocrity over the heads of the consumers. Regarding their most recent release, the lyrics are interesting, the melodies pretty, the songs epic in scope, but rather pedestrian when all the synthesizers are stripped away. Chris Martin has a nice voice, but not an inspiring one. But, then again, the same might be said about U2, and look what they've accomplished. At least Coldplay aren't a ripoff (well, yes, they do bear more than a passing nod to U2, but I mean ripoff in the "you've been robbed" kind of way)...at worst you might feel like you spent too much on the CD - you won't be wondering why you bought it in the first place. I probably wouldn't be so critical had I not been expecting considerably more from their new CD. The song "Viva la Vida" was stuck in my head by about the fifth time I saw the stupid iTunes commercial. It's arranged in a way to make it a depaparture from typical pop/rock drivel, and I like its bass pulse: solid without being bombastic. Nice layering of sounds, but it sounds canned overall. There are a couple of tunes that sound like they borrowed a page from Sgt. Pepper (but who HASN'T borrowed a page from Sgt. Pepper?), and a few that suggest to me a hasty trip from concept to final mix. HOWEVER, if you think I'm being overly critical, you should hear my rants about 99.9999999% of the rest of the music that I have been subjected to and tortured with over the years. Overall, I'm pleased by Coldplay's latest. I give it 7 points for every single track being worthy of repeated listens, 1 point for the single "Viva la Vida" having the incredible capacity to get stuck in your head, minus 2 points for the CD as a whole not living up to the hype, but I'm giving those 2 points back as extra credit for still being better than most of what else the recording industry attempts to shove down our throats. 80%. That's a solid B. Good effort.

The world of music, songs and artists is graced by beats of drums, whose lilting tunes can enliven drooping spirits and rejuvenate frayed nerves. Complimenting the vocal music culture has emerged the instrumental music. Steel drums form an integral part of the instrumental music genre, which has successfully carved a niche for itself.

The soul pondering instrumental music has win hearts and has proved to be a pleasant gift for one and all. The history of steel drums is long and interesting. It was invented in the land of Trinidad around the time of Second World War.

The steel drums were invented to bridge the gap between the upper and poor classes. As upper class banned the lower class instruments, the lower class would simply replace it with another new instrument.

Earlier the instruments were devised by cutting varying lengths of bamboos. A by product of cultural gaps between the rich and the poor, steel drums have emerged with the musical quality of both the classes.

The early 1930s saw a great evolution in the history of steel drums with metal beating drums. The first pitched metal drum was made out of small metal containers, which were convex in shape. But with time it evolved to a great extent and now it is constructed from a 55 gallon barrel. Steel drums are a recently re-invented addition to the world of musical instruments.

Steel pan music reached new heights in the 19th century when a steel band got the opportunity to perform in common wealth celebrations. This gave steel drummers a new international exposure and gradually it became an established art form, revered by music lovers across the world. Steel drummers are adapting themselves in a varied number of ways to suit different tastes.

Instrumental music can broadly be categorized into the following types

Vocal supported instrumental music

Western instrumental music

Oriental classical music

Instrumental music has been very popular from ancient times. The different traditions of instrumental music have been as followed

Andalusian classical music

Bird Name:

Canary

Latin Name:

Serinus canaria

Status:

Least Concern

Scientific Classification:

Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Chordata

Class: Aves

Order: Passeriformes

Family: Fringillidae

Genus: Serinus

Species: S. canaria

General Information:

The wild species is also known as Canary, Island Canary, Tame Canary, and Atlantic Canary. The Domestic Canary has been bred in captivity since the 1600s. They are divided into three main groups: Colorbred Canaries (bred for mutations), Type Canaries (bred for their shape), and Song Canaries (bred for unique song patterns). The word "Canary" is derived from the Latin canaria, "of the dogs", referring to the numerous wild dogs that inhabited the islands.

Physical Description:

The average length of the wild Canary is 12.5 cm, with a wingspan of 20 to 23 cm, and a weight of 15 to 20 gm. They are yellow green, with brownish streaking on their back and wings and have gray and brown in their plumage. The beaks and feet are pale in color. Females are duller in color.
In the case of the domesticated Canaries, there are hundreds of mutations that will have numerous variations in color.

Diet:

The diet in the wild consists of fruits, seeds, and nuts. They have a grove on the inner beak that helps them to break open nuts.

Habitat:

The Canary is native to the Azores, the Canary Islands, and Madeira. It inhabits semi-open areas such as orchards where it nests in shrubs and trees. It resides in elevations from sea level to 1700 m. A number of escaped populations occur on Bermuda, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

Reproduction:

Breeding is generally between January and July. Females build the nests in bushes or small trees. Incubation takes about 14 days and the chicks fledge after two weeks.

Origin:

Mambo originated in Havana, Cuba in the 40s. The Mambo was originally played as a Rumba with an emphasis on 2 or 4. Once introduced, it fast led to other variations. Although Mambo did not last long and is only danced by advanced dancers today, it led to other styles that became popular such as Salsa and Cha-cha.

Music:

Mambo is an up-tempo dance rythm, usually around 200 bpm. Mambo, like Salsa is played in 4/4 with all 4 beats being evenly accented. Like a lot of Latin American rythms, percussion forms a very important part of the music.

Dance:

Mambo is probably one of the toughest dances to learn, especially is you are already used to dancing one of the other Latin styles like Salsa. Although the music is 4/4, the stepping is quite different. The steps are taken on the second beat as opposed to the first beat, which is one of the main differences that throw most dancers off. The other difference is that the weight change takes place three times in every four beats whereas only two steps are taken!

Latinos NZ Popularity Scale: 1/10

Mambo is rarely danced in Latin clubs in New Zealand, and is rarely taught in training institutes.
